She's on a terrace, on Central, so she can get back easy, sitting so her legs dangle through large gaps in the railing. The city looks lovely at night, with all the lights twinkling different colors like Christmas.
Christmas. For Christmas Dr. Light had promised her Rush, but it had to wait a while, so she didn't get him till Valentine's Day. She had been so happy, having wanted a dog since her third day after being activated. True, he wasn't as soft as the little pug she had petted, but he had been warm, and took her hugs and licked her. And he was hers. Something just for her.
She felt her face get hot and her eyes burn. Of all the things to make her cry again it had to be the thing she had coveted most.
