He arrived in a wash of warped data and twisting dimensional threads that spit him out with pinpoint precision. But unlike so many others, he was neither off-balance nor confused; not, at least, by his jaunt across the multiverse

Perhaps six minutes after Blaze has begun his stalk, a rectangle of light appears in the air not a foot from where Blaze had manifested, and Major Ijuuin steps through, followed by two other people wearing the NetSaviours badge and toting obvious firepower.
Ijuuin keeps his physical weapons holstered, though he sends out a shielded probe to see if there is a local Net, and if it's useful.
He motions his minions to start a flanking maneuver on their dangerous quarry.
Even when only spotted out of the corner of his eye, that glowing wedge is all-too familiar. Blaze rolled his eyes and snorted.
Of course.
Slowing and then stopping altogether, he pivoted in place and stared down the slighter Major. The pair of NetSaviours he ignored; they were inconsequential.
"Don't you have anything better to do with your time, puppy?"
"Oh, I'm being very productive with my leave. No need to worry your little self about that."
Blaze smiled, but his eyes gleamed redly.
"A little bit of retrieval, a little independent coding, a few jaunts Elsewhere on a research foray -- you know how these things fall out, Major. Making the most of one's time."
"It'd be a shame to get myself bloody before I need to go back to work."
"You're out of your jurisdiction, puppy; you can't do a thing to stop me."
Like lightning -- much, much too fast for a man of his size -- Blaze drew his sidearms and fired on both NetSaviours at once. The twist of his head, eyes flicking, suggested he was definitely chipped for a smartlink of some kind ... no surprise, really.
DMSO rounds with knockout compounds, at the moment, but he had no qualms about upping the ante --
Seeing the other two NetSaviours go down, Ijuuin's jaw clenched -- but checking them was not the priority with Blaze still up and mobile.
"I'm on detached duty," he said coldly. "Your... quarry did a pass through our systems. I'm to make sure he didn't come away with anything he shouldn't have."
He relaxed infinitesimally when Blues silently told him that the Navis of his downed minions reported they were currently unconscious, not dead.

"Strange, I was about to ask you the same thing."

"A shame," Ij echoed, an silently noted the red in Blaze's eyes.
"Well, I'm afraid I can't let you complete this retrieval." A sardonic headtilt. "So sorry to ruin your fun."

Rolling his shoulders with relaxed arrogance, Blaze holstered his weapons and smiled at his counterpart. It really was just too amusing.
"The only difference is that I admit I want the pretty doll. You'll hand it over to some other vulture instead of doing the dirty work yourself."
"That said, you're out of luck."

With a dry little smile, Ijuuin sent his Navi partner into the Giga Net, to track down the "pretty doll" in question.

With another shrug, Blaze turned his back and directed his own attentions to the network ... and smiled.
"A two for one day, hm?"
