Edmund took a shower and changed his clothes before he headed home. It was the act of a slightly guilty man. He did not want Charlie to see the spills of blood and viscera from dead creatures on his clothes, but Edmund also did not wish to make the long walk home in the heat smelling those things either. He needed the shower. That it hid some of what Edmund had gotten up to that day from his boyfriend was only a useful coincidence.
He would still end up telling Charlie anyway.
Honour accompanied him the entire way home, appearing at his side once he stepped out of the Compound and not leaving it until they were on the doorstep of the hut. Edmund could not be sure if the direwolf was also less than pleased with him for exploring Rapture so early or if he had only wanted to go along, too. Regardless, Edmund did not speak to the direwolf any more than he did upon entering his home, but let things take their course.
