He'd spent all of the day after the day after Valentine's Day with Charlie and laying low. It just didn't seem right to focus on anything other than his boyfriend given how things were. But eventually it got to be too much. Or maybe too little was what we should say. Too little touch, too little affection. Edmund knew that Charlie had been hurt, and when you're hurt you want to hide away and not give anything the chance to hurt you again. But it hurt Edmund too, to see his boyfriend pull away from him.
He couldn't push. It was too soon after the fact, and Edmund had never been much of a pusher anyway. He couldn't just sit there either. He'd apologized and still needed to make amends, do whatever Charlie wanted him to do really. But there was a fine line between being apologetic and being pathetic, and it was a line Edmund really didn't want to cross. Which only left him the option of pulling back himself.
So he ducked out and headed to Susan's. Edmund needed to apologize to her anyway, or thank her rather. It had been a weird day all around.
Ed knocked on the door before cautiously letting himself in. "Su? You in?"
