THE RULES:
1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I'll respond by asking you five personal questions about your character/muse so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the completely honest answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

Zippy's Questions:

1) So Cait's the writer, and Rory's the musician... you're the craftsman, as you just put it. How did you come to that, or what's the first thing you can recall making?

I actually started in leatherwork, helping make and repair horse tack while working at the stables where I grew up. I started sketching and drawing fairly young, and took that to the leather by learning to stamp and burn Celtic motifs and other designs into whatever piece I was crafting. I soon took an interest in the metalwork involved in making the fittings for saddles, bridles and such, and took an apprenticeship in all the steps involved in constructing fancy show tack. From there it wasn't much of a jump to jewelry making, and of course I kept drawing and painting throughout.

2) Do you support yourself with the jewelry making?

Between that and my paintings, yes. Of course it would be far more difficult if I didn't have a ... a 'patroness', I suppose you'd call her ... letting me use a small house for low rent. Well, low for Santa Barbara at any rate. There are enough horses in the area that I can get temporary stable work should funds get tight, but I haven't needed to for a while.

3) What's your favorite food?

Ice cream. Closely followed by champ, an Irish potato dish.

4) ...I'm trying to think of a way to ask whether you're single in a way that doesn't sound like I'm propositioning you-- I'm just curious.

I am single, yes. No propositions inferred, I promise. ^_^

5) When can I make you and your sister dinner?

I'll be visiting this next weekend. Would that work?
