New house!?!?!? Welcome to the club. I'm making a big issue of mine and made it a posting series and you never even mentioned you were moving. Or did you and I just missed it over my own excitement? Sorry if so.
Tell us all about it!! Why did you move? Didn't you like the old place anymore or just wanted a different surrounding? Can we see pictures? How big is it? Do you have a yard?
Two and a half months of renovation, huh? That's pretty much what I assume is right in front of us at this point as well, and even the detail about the daughter, who isn't too thrilled about moving sounds veeeery familiar. I guess, she only ever agreed to it, because we said we were gonna buy a dog if we moved there. For no other reason. I'm sure she will love her new, big room and the fact that she'll practically have the upstairs to herself, but at this point she's just seeing that everything - school, friends, old neighbourhood - is way further away than before. She thinks it's a boring neighbourhood we are moving to - too quiet (which is precicely why we are moving there) - and she's not happy. How about your daughter - why doesn't she like it? Is it far away from your old place? I guess it's the fear of the unknown, but as soon as they got aquainted they will feel just as at home there as in their old home. Kira doesn't know any other home than our condo and for her it may be hard, but in a couple of years she will probably move out again anyway, while my hubby and I intend to grow old and grey there, so it had to be what we were looking for. And it is.

I so wanna hear the entire story. Make it a looooong post with lots of pictures. LoL

Good to have you back and I hope you enjoyed your b-day.

He he, I'll make a post with pictures as soon as I get through this current ordalia; let me only say that Chiara, my daughter, only agreed to move to the new house because we promised her a cat... ^________^ some things seem to be the same at every latitude!
As for my b-day, I spent it entirely at work, and when I finally got home at night, I nearly fell asleep into the cake my husband had bought to me... so sad, isn't it? But I'm going to make a party with my friends, once this horrible period ends.
Thank you for your support, it's nice to be back among you all!

LoL You're getting a cat for Chiara? And we are getting a dog for Kira. Everything to please the little princesses. *rolls eyes* And who's gonna end up taking care of those pets? Make an educated guess.

Sorry to hear about your falling-into-the-bday-cake-incident. :-) Sounds like it's all been a little bit too much of late, huh? They started renovations in our house yesterday and already surprises are occuring. Like the fact that all pipes in the house are made of lead, which is highly hazardous to your health, so they ALL need to be replaced. Well, what can I say - I did mention to one of those gentlemen weeks ago that it's a house built in 1959 and there may be a chance of lead pipes, but I was told to soft-pedal as in 'we can't do everything new'. Now the architect says they have to be replaced by all means - whatever that means to our cost calculation. Great start. :-) But does that mean men ever listen to women? Noooooo. Everything is still peachy. Well, it better.

Anyway, I consider it the men's part to take care of the renovations and entirely my part to spend money on new furniture and decoration stuff. LoL How does that sound? xD

We'll be having a big house warming party as soon as we've moved, unpacked and the pictures are up, so crowds of people and trample our new carpets to shreds. Oh wait, there won't be any carpets ... Well, in that case - it's a party! xD I wish it was September yet.
Wake me up when September ends ... Know that song? :)))

Anyway, congrats again. You've done it. The worst is over and now I'm dying to see pictures and hear the entire story. Honestly. Looking forward to your house post!!

Enjoy the new home.
