Taking a break from lit. review

Dec 14, 2005 23:16

I think I'm going to make myself a countdown list of all the things that I need to accomplish before December 25th. That way I can crystallize my panic, but also get the satisfaction of crossing things off the list as they get done. Tonight, for example, we decorated the tree(s) and mantle. It's officially looking like Christmas in the house, ( Read more... )

Yeah, what is it with Jury duty and deadlines. My boss at work got a FEDERAL Jury summons right in the midst of a humongous roll-out. It is the jury-gods laughing at us, I'm sure.

Sushi 86 is one of my favorite places! If you call me at 216-706-3889, I could meet you for lunch. (Actually, we should order lunch there and then go sit in the BP Building atrium to eat. It's a pleasant place.)

That would be lovely!

I will call you when I'm set free for our lunch break, which could be anywhere from 12-12:30. I hope that's okay...

(I dunno,though. If I'm seen fraternizing with a soon-to-be-lawyer, whatever will I do?! ;-)

That's fine. If you call and I don't pick up, have me paged, because I will be here.

I don't think that lunching with a paralegal who has nothing to do with the case will jeopardize your integrity - and hey, I just passed the ethics test, so I would know!

Go to Vincenza's for pasta or pizza. It's a madhouse at lunchtime but they shuffle you through the line and it is oh-so-tasty!

And I will volunteer to help with baking on the 26th - I have no plans that day until the party starts. Alas, I cannot help with anything else (unless I'm one of those 15 people, in which case: no gift needed!)

Thank you for the offer! I know that we'll be able to use help that day. We'll discuss soon. :-)

It's a selfish offer, really. My baking knowledge is low, so I plan to learn from one of the best :-)

May I suggest telling your History prof about the jury duty and see about an extension? You may or may not need it, but s/he ought to know now what's going on.

I'll chime in on G's behalf...

I recommended the same thing, but since grades are due on the 23rd, there's not much she can do in the way of an extension, that wouldn't require an Incomplete for the class. Gotta give the prof _some_ time to actually grade the thing...

Well...an incomplete then! Jury duty is a pretty big deal. I don't know how close she and the rest of the jury are to getting the case, but I'd hope the prof would understand.
