Whoops, I missed last week's exercise log. Mea culpa! I worked with Sean on Friday, got in 30 minutes of vigorous cardio and then a really good workout session. I felt vigorous and accomplished. But that was last week...)
In stark contrast, today's workout wiped me out. I had no energy to start with this morning, but ended up my session feeling like a limp noodle.
Today, working with Sean, I said "let's do a little of everything!" *sigh* So we did three sets each of the following:
- One-legged lunges: Performed standing in front of a weight bench, with my back leg bent up at 90 degrees, with the toe of my back foot resting on top of the bench. Lunge performed normally, focusing entirely on front leg. (15 with each leg)
- One-armed chest press: Using the chest press machine with 15lbs (??) on each side, alternated arms with each press. (15 per arm, though last set was only 9 per arm before muscle exhaustion)
- One armed seated row: rowing back with one arm at a time, with 30lbs on each side (25lbs for half of the last set)
- Jack-knife sit ups: sitting sideways on weight bench, holding side of bench behind me for balance (15)
- Cable tricep pull-down with 45lb
- Cable bicep curl with 40lb of weight
I did one set of 15 crunches, then spent 10 minutes stretching afterwards.
For whatever reason, today's workout entirely kicked my ass. I was exhausted and slightly trembly for most of the morning, after which point I have been getting steadily more sore. Ugh. At least I got to the gym! That's one reason for a sense of accomplishment....
