This song represents to me everything that I love about contra dancing -- everything I love about life, even. Good music, a good song, and a rhythm so catchy you have to move your feet. Heck, I think I can even guess the figures to the dance they're doing just from the tune and the sounds of the stomps on the dance floor. The message of the song, too, speaks to my soul.
For one of my friends, however -- a singer, a dancer and a lover of life -- tomorrow will in fact be too late. Tonight I'm raising a glass of water in honor of Pete and his family.
