yuletide 2013!

Yuletide author! I am very sorry to have given you so little direction in my signups--I'd had an absolutely hectic couple weeks and was signing up at the very last second. I'd hoped to have time to flesh my requests out a little before assignments went out. :( I hope that you were excited enough about whatever we matched on that a lack of specificity didn't worry you, at least!

Anything you choose to write about these characters will be fine by me, but I know it can be tough to write for someone else without an idea of what they'd like. So here's a bit of detail!

Overall I'm a terrible person to be matched with if you're hugely into angst. I'm a sappy sap mcsaperson in general, and also I recently got married so I'm in love with love etc. Things that are generally in: kindness, humor, being surprised by the depths of your affection, being oblivious to how much you are loved, and sexy boning. I like my romance tempered with sarcasm--too mushy and I'm out. Things that are generally not my preference: despair, physical or mental anguish, humiliation that isn't met with understanding, unconsensual or dubiously consensual boning.

Slightly more specifically,

So, Henry/Pike is totally my jam, and Big Eden is totally my comfort movie of choice. What I like especially about this movie is the goodness of the characters--there isn't an asshole in Big Eden, so far as we know; Henry himself seems to be just about the most difficult man in town. Everyone just seems to care about each other. The exchange where Pike is saying, "I just want things to be nice for him," and his friends are saying, "We want things to be nice for you, too," is literally like, Giddy-catnip. So yes. I'd really love a story about Henry doing something thoughtful and kind for Pike, perhaps with the help of their friends in town, and reaping the benefits, whether those are that beautiful smile of Pike's, or blowjobs. :D

I only just recently discovered Miranda--in fact, I haven't finished watching yet. I fully intend to be caught up by Yuletide reveals, though. :D I'm enjoying this show SO MUCH. I relate to Miranda--shockingly! what!--and am just so, so thoroughly in love with her. I want Gary to be so, so thoroughly in love with her too, and would absolutely treasure a fun story wherein he is. A good post-ep for the S3 finale that is pretty intensely Gary/Miranda would be wonderful.

Poussey and Taystee are such total treasures. I love love love them, how funny and smart and wonderful they are, and how troubled, and how much they love each other--their relationship is one of my absolute favorites. I could see either intense gen or slash for them; whichever route you choose, the important thing for me is that this is true love. I'd really enjoy a story where they're back out and clawing their way up with each other's unwavering support and verbal asskickings and deep understanding of each other. &THEM;

Okay, for real, I had no idea how much I was going to love this movie. I thought it was a terrible idea, and I mostly only saw it because I think that Channing Tatum is the like, the one no-neck hottie bro I'll ever find attractive in my life. He blew me away with his funny, though--I couldn't believe how hilarious and warm he was. And I was actually shocked by how little Jenko/Schmidt there is on the AO3! I would love a story to add to the small collection of what there already is--they earned it, I think. My favorite slash tropes for buddy cops are like, undercover gay that reveals the true depths of their relationship/having to share a bed and waking up cuddling, with boners. You know, the classics. ;-)

So that's that--I hope it is at least a little helpful. Mostly I just hope you have fun writing this story, and I'm super excited to read it. I usually turn off IP logging around Yuletide, so if you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a comment and I'll do what I can to clarify!
