I don't even remember what it was that made me pick up Soredemo Ikite Yuku when it started airing. Maybe it was a yearning to watch a train wreck.
Honestly, that's a bad description. This drama was beautiful, tragic, hopeful, well-made, and honest. The acting was impeccable. Everything felt incredibly real, especially the horrible social awkwardness.
The most moving, uncomfortable scene has got to be in the beginning when Eita and Mitsushima went to the family restaurant. The horrible, frank retelling of his sister's murder unwittingly to the younger sister of the culprit and then her reaction to it. It was shattering. Even worse, I was watching it in the work cafeteria. It's alright...my VS Arashi reactions have already branded me as a weirdo.
