Okay, when I first started watching Freeter, I really, really disliked Seiji. (I started to type "hated" but that isn't quite right.) Maybe because of what I'm surrounded by, but I have an issue with people who are too lazy to get and/or keep a job. (And then they bitch when their unemployment gets cut off after 2 years but that's another beef...) I disliked Seiji so much that, for a moment, I was afraid that I would lose my love for Nino over this. Fortunately, he found employment before I gave up on this drama.
And so, by the 10th episode, I was so happy for him that I grinned until my face hurt. And then again in the last scene. It was good. But the journey was a bit of a trial.
I have to say, that after seeing so many squishy families in dramas, it was a bit refreshing to see some dysfunction. Then again, it could just be the dramas I choose to watch. After all, if I wanted realism, I'd watch the news or something...you know in English where I'm not just drooling over Sho. Speaking of which, those birds in Arkansas...weird. Also, cleaning all of that up must have sucked royally.
Okay, I'm going to eat something now I guess even though I don't really have the appetite. Also, I plan to make a valiant effort towards breathing through both nostrils. And continue my downloading of almost the entire internet dramas.
Keeper: if I don't keep an Arashi drama, I regret it...
Tissues: if you don't count sneezing, one for Maru's drama, one for the happy tears in the end and I know I cried at some point in middle
Resolution: 9.1
Overall: I didn't flail a lot but it was a very well-made drama in my opinion. I'll give it an A even though "like" isn't really a good descriptor.
