HI PRETTY ALICIA ICON HI!

It's just really irritating to me that the moderators of those comms seem to have no idea what an acceptable width is for posting photos outside of a cut. Maybe everyone else isn't as picky as me and doesn't mind scrolling left to right for days and days, but that shit is really not okay. Am I totally making up the 500 pixel wide standard that people/communities/fandom used to have? I mean, no, for the most part, it is stuff I've already seen, but sometimes that's nice, you know? I agree, though, that anything new will show up on my flist (generally about six posts in a row, which is also fucking irritating) and that people spam new-to-me stuff, but sometimes a daily photo is nice.

Oh, bb no. You are so not guilty of Twitter spam it isn't even funny. I've been following your Twitter for a while now, and I can honestly say I have never thought that you tweet too much!

OKAY AWESOME I DID NOT THINK I WAS CRAZY. Some of these communities have posts where photos are 700 or 800 or more pixels wide, and that shit is just unacceptable. I don't want to be mean and nasty, but I honestly wonder if lately it's just a case of fairly young fans who haven't been in any fandom for a long time and don't know what's standard. I also don't know why I can't just let it go!

I'm sort of the same way with Twitter. Sometimes I'll post 5-10 tweets in a day and reply to a few people multiple times, but for the most part, I don't think I tweet too much. Some people just really need to shut up!

I don't want to name comm names, but it's not hard to figure out that the new Frank and Bob daily comms have huge-photo-without-a-cut problems, and the new daily Gerard one is just pretty fucking abominable for the chat/macro speak of the posters and commenters, but the mod seems okay with it, and I have seen the mod talk the same way in comments to friends' posts, so whatev. I don't want to tell people 'UR DOIN IT RONG' because it isn't my community to maintain and make rules for, but I can't be the only one put off by too-large photos without a cut/not re-sized and terrible typing/chatspeak in posts and comments. I've solved the problem by modifying my friends list so that I don't see those posts anymore.

I still feel like a jerk for all of the complaining about it, though. /o\

I just have never bothered to say anything directly to the mods/posters in the comms, mainly because no one else seems to be bothered about it enough to speak up. Surely, though, I'm not the only one whose layout is being fucked to hell by these big pictures? Which makes me wonder if there's no rule about it because the mods/maintainers are fairly young and/or are new to fandom in general and don't know that there should be some sort of standard? IDK! I hate making that assumption, but like you said, it's bad internet manners, and if people just don't know, they won't ever know unless someone brings it up.
