Ask Me My Fandom Opinion

Jul 02, 2007 18:23

Ask me one fandom-related question in the comments. This can be fandom specific or general, about fanfic or shows or whatever. Ask anything. It can be as normal or odd as you like. As usual with these things, anonymous posting on, IP logging off.

Describe the fic you've been waiting to read in each of your fandoms.

Waiting as in something already written that I haven't yet read, or waiting as in someone in my fandom really ought to write X kind of fic because I would love to read it?

Okay, um. In Lotrips, I'd love it if someone would write an Orlibean 'real life' sort of AU thing. Like, a really long one. And one that doesn't make me want to cry with crap characterisation and cliches and things. I can't think that there's an HP fic I'd want to read that hasn't already been written. I think that's the good thing about HP fandom. If you can think of a pairing and plot, it's been done. All you have to do is find it.

Billy with whipped cream or Dom with chocolate sauce?

Mmmmm, Dom with chocolate sauce. I don't actually care for whipped cream. *g*

has Elijah always been your number 1 hobbit?

Shockingly, not always. You're really making me tell the story of How Gids Got Into Fandom here...

I started out completely enamored of Dominic, after having seen him in the LOTR films and the first episode of LOST. (This would be autumn of 2004). After that I sort of had a thing for Orlando and started reading fic, mostly crap het fic. The first ever LOTR-related fic I read was Dom het, and I've yet to be able to find it again, sadly. Anyway, by February of 2005 I had a thing for Orlish and started my LJ, and then got into reading Lotrips, mostly Monaboyd. From there I started writing, and then I sort of branched out to Domlijah after my Elijah crush really kicked in around April-ish of 2005. Since then, though, yes, Lijhers has been my favourite and my pretend boyfriend. Also, I've REALLY branched out as far as Lotrips pairings I'll read. *g*

what sex scene from a fic would you kill to watch in real life?

Am I allowed to be selfish and say that there are a few bits of painted_whiskey I'd love to watch in RL? Because it's totally true. And there are quite a few bits of inclineoftrees that I'd love to see as well. And in a perverted way, any of the Woodcest I've read. Hee. *greedy*

I bet there's a pairing in one of your fandoms you like but wish you didn't for whatever reason, because doesn't everybody have one or more of those? Tell me what's yours. :)

Actually, there isn't. I pretty much like what I like and don't care whether anyone else would approve. I wish I hadn't liked the two Viggorli fics I recently read because I NEVER read that pairing, but I did. Mostly, though, I can't read that pairing without wanting to sick up because of cliches and bad characterisation, etc. Honestly, I'll try nearly anything once, and if it's well-written, I have no problem saying I liked it.

Good for you. :)
My main beef with the pairings I go for nowadays is that nobody else goes for them, so I've got nothing to read and I kinda wish I didn't like them. :P
