...and Justice for Most

As I'm sure most of you know, there has been a big controversy over a college professor comparing George W. Bush to Adolph Hitler in a lecture. Now this teacher is in big trouble and the country is divided on the issue of whether or not free speech is covers what has been said or whether or not it is unpatriotic to speak out against the president. Well I have taken it upon myself to clear all of this up.

It isn't unpatriotic to speak out against the president. Because if it was, every entertainer, Democrat, moderate...uh, lot's of Republicans, too...and, uh, lot's of most people would be considered unpatriotic. And it isn't a big deal that Bush was compared to Hitler. You could compare anyone to Hitler. Or anything to anything. Think about it. It isn't like the teacher said that both Bush and Hitler killed 6 million Jews. But there are some similarities between the two, and it isn't a big deal.

George Bush and Hitler. Both leaders. Both were very conservative. Both enjoy war. And neither forgot Poland.

But there are tons of differences, too. That is what we have to remember. Bush isn't Hitler, so we can't take these comments to seriously. Hitler was a powerful public speaker and a self-made man. Hitler greatly decreased unemployment in Germany. Hitler didn't play much golf.

But there is more. Bush is made fun of by Jon Stewart, Hitler was made fun of by Dr. Seuss. Hitler had a small mustache, Bush can't grow one. Hitler's men hurt people, Bush's vice president hurts people. Hitler is scary, Bush is silly.

We have to stop taking these "unpatriotic" statements so seriously. We can clearly see that Bush and Hitler are very much not alike, so why should we let something else bother us? And anything could be compared to Hitler. Even Mega Man. So people just need to let this whole thing blow over, because it isn't a big deal. ...even though he was supposed to be teaching geography.

The irony is, that because of all of this, the guy actually had something to add to his list of how Bush and Hilter are similar. If you spoke out against Hitler, you were persecuted. If you speak out against Bush, you are persecuted...if you are a geography teacher.
