So I just watched the new Amityville Horror. It's quite the accomplishment when something like a 5th or 6th remake of a movie that is based on a true story can be so inconsistent with the original and so absolutely rediculous that it throws the "based on a true story" thought right out the window.
The Amityville Horror (man, "horror" is a a hard word to say correctly) is kind of like a mixture of the original movie, The Shining, extra nonsense, and a roaring Ryan Reynolds. It starts out with a pretty disturbing (and actually this was the coolest part of the movie) killing scene, a semi-happy family then moves into the new house, crap with a clock, scary stuff happens, the dad gets angry, more scary stuff happens, dad gets more angry and roars for whatever reason, crazy stuff, crazy dad, random flies attacking a priest, REYNOLDS...ANGRY!!!, random crap about weird people being in a basement, more crazy dad action, drive boat away, more nonsense, end.
Sure, it is always fun to make fun of such a movie while watching it, but, yeah, that is about all there is to it.
