ATypical Week?

May 31, 2002 05:45

5:15 AM. Early in the day, but too late to go to sleep. I'll just fill you in on the details of my life and hope you enjoy the read.

Thursday, May 23: Take a quiz in Probability and Statistics. Bomb a quiz in Probability and Statistics. Seriously, it could have been written in ancient Greek and I think I would've understood it about as well. Not only did I have no clue what I was doing, but I left the room fairly confident that I had answered every single question incorrectly. At least I had an answer for every question, I suppose. It really made my day, let me tell you. Good lord do I hate that class and that professor.

Friday, May 24 through Sunday, May 26: Sleep, eat, watch movies, sneak in a 5 mile run. I was stuck on campus due to a 24 hour duty beginning at 8:00 Saturday night, and I had no homework and no residents (c'mon, it was Memorial Day weekend, what did you expect?). So I used the "opportunity" to totally vegetate and make sure that the movie files lived up to my standards for burning to CD. They did. But watching Pi, The Boondock Saints, What Women Want and Memento in one weekend sure makes for an interesting mental state. Not that I'd be acting any differently than normal, mind you. ;-) Cap it off with a drive back home on Sunday night, slower than normal but still mostly in that "greater than or equal to 85 miles per hour" speed range.

Monday, May 27: I started off the day by washing and touching up my car, guaranteed to put me in a good mood. This was even a little better than normal, as I managed to snare a few triple takes from people driving by. I think their thought process must have been something along the lines of "Cool car.... kid with green hair.... HUH?!?" I just love breaking unwritten rules. Unfortunately, though, I could not cruise around because my battery is dead. I'm going to have to rebuild the generator, I think. But I did enjoy a barbeque with family and friends, Melanie sporting her awesome new hairstyle and Oshyn being even cuter. Then it was off to Zoli's house for some more food and an evening whetting the roleplaying urge with he and Mick.

Tuesday, May 28: The one day this term during which I didn't have classes but businesses kept normal hours. I took full advantage of this, finally ordering a replacement for my debit card (yes, this means that I'll soon be giving up my claim to fame as the man in possession of his lost property) and stopping by my alma mater to visit with former educators and current friends. It's business as usual at Center Line High School, but it was cool to catch up with them nonetheless. Afterwards I rode around with, dined with, and did what I could to help a certain budding mathematician. ;-) Then it was back to school with me.

Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30: Class, class, class. Three on Wednesday and three on Thursday. No sleep on Thursday because Theory of Computation homework takes longer each assignment, as well as studying for a test in Electronics. Oh yeah, and I got that Prob/Stats test back too. The verdict: 100. And that's all I have to say about that.
