I just got home from my first day of student teaching with actual kids and not just another boring professional development day. it was exactly how I remember the first day of school being. I didn't do anything. I stood at the front of the class all day while my host teachers went through all the same old school policy stuff. I threw my two cents in here and there. I was sad when none of the students in any of my classes had any questions for me. Tomorrow will be similar. I won't actually start teaching much for another week or so. The 40 minute drive every morning and again every night isn't too bad. It gives me some time to think and not worry about anything else that I'm supposed to be doing... I mean besides driving. I wanted to stay for the freshmen girls basketball game and then the jv soccer game followed by varsity. But I decided to skip those tonight so I could come home at a reasonable hour and maybe get something done before I go to bed EARLY. I'm gonna have to get used to waking up every morning at 5 am to get ready. I know that's only an hour or two earlier than I used to always wake up but between 5 and 6 is a big hour. well, time to start worrying about other things I should be doing again.
