Well, I thought today that since a lot has been happening lately and I had such a fantastic day yesterday that it warranted an update. Last week was hell. This week isn't going to be much better either. On Monday last week I had an exam which I found out today that I got a B on. I wasn't able to study very well for it because I had worked at the hardware store for 25 hours the previous weekend. So I was worried. Then I had another exam on wednesday in much harder class. I'd belucky to come away with a C- on that one. Lots of other assignments and papers were due and I didn't sleep much. On Saturday I worked and spent 3 1/2 hours taking two teacher certification tests. I'm pretty sure I did alright. The good news from last week was that I finally (officially) got my student teacher placement. Next fall I will be teaching at Waverly Highschool in Lansing with Mr. Devin Pringle. He's a social studies and history teacher and also the football and track coach. I'm pretty excited about that.
On to my wonderful Sunday
Yesterday Tracy and I got up at the crack of dawn and drove to Lake Odessa to hear the Right Reverand Mark Jarvie preach his sermon. Tracy was a little nervous but I knew my family would love her. My mom made lasagna and we spent a while talking and playing with the Cat With Many Names. Tracy added Chubs to the list. We walked through the antique store which was fun and went on a tour of my life. She assured me that it wasn't as boring as I know it is. Our first stop was the camp. It was cool because I got to see the new ropes course and chapel and she got to see where I'd be all summer. We walked on the trails in the woods and saw a bunch of white tail deer. Matt and Megan were also on a walk and we met up with them and chatted for a while. Then I took her to one of my favorite spots in the whole world; the bridge over High Banks Creek. It was really cold and kinda rainy so we didn't linger but it was nice to go back. We took the long way home and I showed her the area that I grew up in, all the while throwing in my random tid-bits of knowledge that I am so famous for. It was more than just a long drive. It was nice to spend some time with her outside of Mt Pleasant. Very refreshing.
Now on to another aweful week of assignments, due dates and late nights. Workin' at the hardware store again this weekend; putting in another 20 or so hours. It sure would make things a lot nicer if it would just stay sunny and warm.
