the internet is no longer safe for nerds

This follows along the same vein as harmonicalesson's experience, and it sort of makes me wonder if the universe is being folded up over itself to be stored in the Nine-Dimensional Linen Closet of Fate:

Thanks for the kind words

We have come a LONG way since the "plasticine song". We recorded our debut album "complications' last year (which you can download from iTunes if you so desire) and have just recorded a single which is about to hit national radio.

As far as the adding..... I'll be honest, we were googling ourselves and for some reason your name came up (if that sounds perverse to your ears I do apologize). Anyway thanks for the continued support and if you do decide to shell out for the album please let us know what you think.

All the best

Hey,

First of all, thanks for friending me.
Second, I believe I downloaded a couple of your songs from download. com around a year or so ago ("Adrift on a sea of stars in a Plasticine boat" was one that I particularly enjoyed), so it was naturally quite interesting when I found your friend request.

Then again, it could be coincidence.

At any rate, I enjoy your music v. much, and appreciate the friendingness-ness.

Best,
Lea

I have since purchased the album online (I just need to wait for it to be shipped from England), and I can't sit still even now. I fangirled "Adrift" for months after I downloaded it. Also, the album previews for Complications make me insufferably giddy; "Smokescreen" is by far my favourite from what I've heard, although there's no telling what the rest of the album will bring.

In other news, I'm losing my mind. Summer quarter starts in ten days, and instead of revisiting my Calc notes from last year, I've been messing around with a new Joomla! back-end for the AU website. As a result of this introduction, I have this grotesque fear that I may never do anything logically productive again. (This is a statement which hinges on the assumption that I've ever been logically productive, though, so I guess I really have nothing to worry about.)

I should seriously stop eating these ginger Altoids. I'm not ready for British confection rehab.

Speaking of addictions, Cliff Simon needs to stop being pretty. Like, right now. I do not need another addition to my ridiculously extensive celebrity man-harem.

Oh well. Have some more music.
