Gibber!

Been a long time since i posted on here. But I haven't really done anything post worthy till now. I've been unemployed for the last 6 months, so i spend a lot of time here on my computer playing games. Then about a month back i decided to try this centrelink thing. Took me 2 weeks to get all the paperwork sorted since they sent me the wrong form and had to get it changed. Also living with Nyss meant that there was another whole batch of forms. After all of that though i got payed for the 2 weeks of doing forms. Not a whole heap though, coz Nyssa's earnings cut down what i get. I then spent 2 weeks applying for work. The first job i applied for gave me an interview and i trialled for them on wednesday night. I now have a job and will be working every wednesday, friday and saturday nights. I'm not entirely impressed to be doing security again, but the upside is that its a k9 unit. I get to walk a dog. The company matches each guard with a dog, so Kestrel will be my partner. She is by far the best partner I've had doing security. She is a Belgian Shepherd and is 4 yrs old. Belgian Shepherds are a bit leaner than german shepherds with lighter colouring, but they have less problems with their hips and have a longer working life. Kestrel is awesome on the job, if anyone dodgy or a bit too drunk approaches me she jumps at them barking and snarling, its very intimidating, it freaked a few people out on wednesday night. If anyone raises their voice at me she does the same. And if a fight does errupt, i can guarantee she'll be right next to me using her very pointy teeth. She's caused damage to a few people on the job before. So i feel a lot safer coz i know i'll be protected. The dogs are trained very well. They are so affectionate and are actually family pets, get along with toddlers. When on the job its all business. The main reason for matching the guard with each dog is so that a friendship bond will form between them, so that the dog will want to protect its handler. Definately one of the more interesting security jobs i've had. The company also does dog training for its business. They buy, sell and breed dogs to train. I'm thinking i might find out if they need some help with that, i'd love to know more about their dog training. Also my pay rate is higher than any other security job i've had. And because of the hours i'll be able to hold the job when TAFE starts, since I have also applied for the mid year intake for a diploma of accounting. Figured it was time to get a qualification in something other than security.

So thats where I'm at now. Should be earning a bit more money, which means more drinking at the pub, woot. Gibber!
