Entry for Brigits Flame Sept week 1 - Mud

Sep 08, 2008 08:33

As I lay there on the sandy yellow beach with my dark blond hair flowing in the wind under my big straw hat, I noticed that the clouds were getting darker and darker.

"Janey?" said a familiar voice from afar.

I looked up and saw a tall dark, muscular man with dark eyes and a mustache.  "Oh, it's you..." I said, putting my sunglasses back on.

"Janey, don't you recognize me?"  He said again, coming closer to me.

"Look, Clayton, I told you before, and I'll tell you again, I'm not interested."  Sighing softly, I noticed the clouds coming in against the waves now.

"Well, that's all right with me, since I got married last week."  Clayton pulled up his chair next to mine.

"Really, that's nice"  I said, with a half smile, and started to pack my things up.

"Yeah, she's real nice too.  Long legs, and sparkling personality, kinda looks like you."  He smiled his goofy smile and sat down.

"Well, Clayton,...I hate to brake this to you, but I think there's a storm coming and soon, so I'll see you around sometime, okay?"  I decided that this conversation was going nowhere and fast, and as soon as I packed up my bag, I felt a drop.

"Oh man, here it comes."  I said softly.

"What?"  Clayton was oblivious to the rain, he always was.

"Rain...can't you feel it coming?"  As soon as I said those words, the rain started coming down and fast.

"Oh yeah, rain...I love the rain..." Clayton had a mysterious smile about him.

"Well, come on, we can't stay here, we'll be stuck in the mud pretty soon!"  I started to push my way through the storm, when all of a sudden, I was pushed to the ground.

"Clayton!"  I said with a surprise..."What are you doing!!!"

"Well, I'm not leaving my wife behind, now am I....."  he said as he picked me up over his shoulder and dragged me to the car.

I smiled knowing my husband was right after all...
