Lilly the Great - Greyhound

Jan 16, 2019 05:52

A/N - If I actually have the chutzpah to create a jazz CD this year, my good friend said she would buy it for her (and her dog - Lilly who is a Greyhound) so I said I would write a song for Lilly - this is what I came up with in my head last night (again, brain, really?)

FAST/UPTEMPO - 6/8 (?) (may change tempo on bridge

I'm Lilly the Great  - Grey Hound
I'm a good dog - all 'round
I like to run - fast and swift
See my tail go - swish swish

I used to race - at the track
Now I come home - to eat a snack
I got new friends - they call family
And they like to call me - Lilly

BRIDGE/Chorus (?)
I got spots and really long legs
But don't let me fool ya
'Cause I like to curl and begs
For food but mama won't let ya
My new sister the husky will sing and howl
And I try to snuggle and steal the show

I'm Lilly the Great - Grey Hound
I'm a good dog - all 'round
Don't make me late, I'll be good
Give me a chance, I'll let you pet me - oooo

I'm not just a dog, but now a friend
And I hope I'll be here to the end
Don't make me bark, I might get mad
But that's just the cats, who are really bad

dogs, jazz, silly swing, lilly, greyhound
