So, I've been blogging now for almost 3 years.
Recently, I've also been asked to do some writing for a website for Re-enacting....which I did (4 articles up to date).
Now, I am NO expert here, I am even considered a novice at this stuff...I am a pretty good writer (yes, I am still learning on the go here) and willing to learn more as I go. I am still somewhat new to blogging and writing. BUT
Now this person who asked me to write for him (will remain anonymous for now) a while ago, informed me that I would be paid 40% off of advertising revenue once the hits got up to a certain point (when I first started doing this, about a month ago).
It then became more complicated when another person wanted to write, but then wanted my help...er, not while I'm doing it for free - thanks, but I think my time is worth something here - right? Then, I sent him another e mail to ask how exactly is this going to work? Does he have a business plan? So then he tells me that he's going to ask his brother on what he needs to do or how this will work.
Last night I posted again (a long one too, about 1094 words to be exact) with the site being at 1001 hits when I last saw it (going up too, btw, and I think that's pretty good considering that I'm mostly the one with all the articles being written, or am I wrong here?). I get an e mail this morning (he's in another Country, did I mention this?) saying basically that while it's a great interview, that the hits don't really mean unique hits, that it means that the same people are checking in on the site (is that not a good thing?) and that for advertising revenue to be good, that it needs to be a certain amount of unique hits per day (huh?). Something about not writing for easy money (yes, well, I'm not looking for that, but eventually I would like to be paid) but writing for the love of the community....er thanks but no thanks? I have 2 more interviews ready to go and one that I am going to do this Friday for the site....help?
Do I still write and get nothing? Do I post once in a while compared to once a week? Do I send back an e mail saying er, as much as I love the community does not mean I love being used? HELP??!!???
What do you guys suggest....any advice will be helpful.
Thanks and please don't cross post this yet...
