Digging
*This is week one entry for April for Bridgit's Flame, fiction and fun
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, I get to go out now, oh I have been waiting all day for my human to get home. See my tail wagging human? "Woof" I say in thanks, and out the door I go.
The grass is really wet under my soft paws, my nose goes first to the ground. No, I don't like that, looks like Murray was here again, darn neighbor, why does he always go in my yard! Oh well, it looks like this tree is good. I smell it and the bark smells of spring. Ah, that feels good. I sit for a while and stare at the sky for a while.
I notice a small bump in the ground. I get up from my comfortable resting place and go and take a long sniff. There's something under there! What is it!?! Oh boy, I sniff again, smells like meat or my stuffed bunny from when I was a puppy, oh bunny, is that you? I dig, I dig, I dig....Ooh what is that? I smell again, nope, not bunny. Darn, where did I put that bunny? I dig I dig, I dig....I find something shiny and round like my ball, ooh is it my ball, the one nana gave me? I smell again, nope, not ball. Darn, where did I put that ball? I dig, I dig, I dig....ooh clink, I heard clink, like when human goes drinking wine at the table, I heard clink, I dig, I dig, I dig...Not sure what this is, should I bring to human? Hmm, maybe bring to human....no, might get in trouble. I put clinky thing back in ground, maybe I wait until other human finds it.
I go back to the door and scratch my paw on the outside. I want to come in now human, let me in.
