The days have turned beautiful here. The weather has dropped to 20 C with a blustery, cool breeze. The skies are overcast by dark grey clouds sprinkling rain. It's a welcome break from the days of endless haze and hot sun. I'm a little homesick for autumn in Morro Bay.
Jayme made blackened chicken and potatoes of doom (like country potatoes, but far better) for breakfast. It was fantastic. I don't know what I'd do if I was still eating Iraqi food every day. Thank you, Jayme. Food is love.
I got a letter today from Sgt. Tomas:
Just a small token of appreciation for what you did. The other day I hooked up my webcam and saw my wife and kids. I haven't seen them (besides pictures) in 10 months. It brought tears to my eyes. You just can't imagine what you and HNS [Hughes Network Systems] have done for us.
And that makes it all worth it.
