(no subject)
So, the last couple of weeks have seen a revelation in my relationship with my daughter. It's been such a nice change. We are actually talking and laughing and sharing things. It's the relationship that I had always wanted to have with my girl. But somewhere in her preteen years, I became the "MOM".... and therefore NOT the person to talk to. I think that just maybe we are on the far side of that now. I hope so.
On other news, she went on her first official date this weekend. AND she was happy to dress like the beautiful young lady that I've always known she is. She had a wonderful time. AND she joined the robotics team/club at school. She has never expressed an interest in science before. I see the woman in her now and not the girl... It's wonderful to behold. One of the best Mother's Day presents I ever had.
