My sister had her surgery today, and the news couldn't have been any better. The surgery took only about 1.5 hours (they'd said it could be 2-4 hours), and they found that the tumor didn't penetrate the lining of the uterus and didn't have roots (this is all 3rd hand filtered through my non-medically-inclined brother-in-law AND my baby sister, but I'm confident that they got the gist of it right). This means that they don't even consider it a cancerous tumor, and she won't need additional treatment.
I have been a bit of a wreck lately (except for at WDW, where you can't help being happy) and am SO relieved to know that this is done.
Sister owes a big thank you to the doc who ordered the biopsy.
