I haven't written about Logan in a long time. He became like my adopted son. He has been in our lives for many years now, is 18 and graduating high school tonight. I'm so excited for him. He has grown from a lost mixed up kid into a strong young man. He will be going into the Airforce this August with boot camp in Texas. Who knows where he will be ( Read more... )

After we all hugged him and I got a couple of pictures with my phone, (my camera is broken), his grandfather appeared out of the crowd. It was chaos down on the field! We stood and talked while Logan we getting grabbed from every direction. His grandpa despite being a hard ass does really love Logan. You could just see how proud he was. Logan came back to the circle we had and I noticed a woman standing behind him. I recognized her from her myspace pictures. She held back uncomfortably and no one was introducing us. I noticed her looking over at me so I chose that time to step up to her and hold out my hand and say, "Hi, I'm Ginni." She looked me in the eye and grabbed my hand and said "Hi" and then looked down and slinked back into the background. I actually felt sorry for her. They were heading out to eat and we had to find Chelsea to congratulate her. I had to have a pic of her Meg and Lindsey. They have grown up together and are next door neighbors. Lindsey now pretty much lives at my house. She and Meg are inseparable. I have adorable pictures of a young Chelsea holding Meg when she was 3.
Good lord, all my kids grew up fast!

Aww. You are so nice to have gone up to her. I wonder if she is feeling remorse for all she missed in his life by her selfishness. You are still definitely the bigger person for having made the first move and making her feel more comfortable. Some women just are not cut out to be mothers, and unfortunately the most awesome people are thier offspring. Sad. Fortunately for them, people like you enter the picture, and pick up where their own mother have failed. And he recognizes that. So great. So heartwarming, this whole story. Thanks for sharing it.
