"My schedule will be very busy for the foreseeable future. I am looking to take on these new adventures with great enthusiasm."

This quote is from a post from September 1, 2008. Ten months without really taking a breather. From September to June, I worked full time, took classes, and attempted to stay sane. I had a couple of weeks in June with work ending (school's over for the summer) where I was able to relax somewhat. I used that time to organize and clean some stuff at home. Not completely relaxing, but I didn't have to do anything else. Last weekend began my extensive traveling excursions for the summer.

I drove to Missouri to visit friends (glithander  and laurald ).  The drive from eastern Michigan to western Missouri was long and uneventful.  Same for the drive home.  Good in that I had no trouble.  Bad in that there was not much to look at.  It was good to be with close friends for the weekend.  We were able to catch up, see some of the sights of the Kansas City area, and just hang out.  They'll be visiting Michigan in August, so it won't be too long until I see them again.  Not a whole year.

I'll spend this weekend at Fort Niagara in New York.  I'll be camping with others for a French and Indian War reenactment.  I'll get there Thursday afternoon and return home Sunday evening.  I've never been to that area, so it will be my first time seeing Niagara Falls.  I am looking forward to the experience of the entire weekend.  Camping, early colonial living, shooting cannons, fireworks.

The next weekend finds me in Toronto for Polaris.  Polaris is a large convention in the Toronto area each summer.  Right after this trip, I take my state test for the Special Education: Learning Disabilities endorsement and my final class for said endorsement.  Right now, August looks somewhat uneventful.  I'll post more after each event.  I could post more about my trip to Missouri, but it is late and I need to sleep before the trip later in the morning.

Have a great 4th of July weekend!
