Farewell, early twenties and hello mid twenties

I'm now in my mid-twenties, which is a really weird thing to type out. Don't feel any more mature, adult, wiser, etc. At least not any older yet, but that's probably because I've already been feeling older for a while now. Still, biological age is a handy metric ( Read more... )

Wait, you didn't know? LoK is the sequel to TLA, only that it's set about 70 years after the events in TLA. Same world, more or less same rules and established facts, but the shows are kind of polar opposites in a few respects, ie TLA is very clearly aimed towards a younger audience, while LoK is pretty much a young adult show.

Nah, it's cool- your presence was more than enough to make up for a cake. Plus, I don't know what I'd do with a decent sized cake other than leave it in the fridge for a while.

no, haha! I watched the Last Airbender with the kids I used to nanny for and was surprised how much I liked it since I was expecting a kid show, haha. I didn't finish it though, they only had two seasons or something...

Oh right, I forgot that you mentioned that to me. But yeah, The Last Airbender is a kid's show, but it's kind of a really well done kid's show? It doesn't aim too high, but it doesn't pretend like kids aren't going to watch something that isn't frivolous and tries to tell a good story.

P.S. I have season three, if you're inclined to catch up after a year or two.

Oh man, I don't think I have time... how many seasons are there?

The Last Airbender has three seasons (I think they're 21 eps each), but Legend of Korra has 4 seasons with 13 eps each.

The advantage is that each episode is roughly 20 minutes long, with the exception for some of the seasons finales, so it's literally something that you can just sit down and watch while eating breakfast/dinner.

Wait, do you not eat breakfast or something?

I wouldn't say that neither of them are super groundbreaking shows in the traditional sense, but they're very solid/enjoyable shows in terms of content, even if you look at them outside of the scope of shows you'd expect for kids? If you liked TLA a lot, you'd probably like the rest of TLA, which means you'd probably like LoK more or the same.
