I'm really confused as to why they decided to change the leaves between episodes- I'm 99% sure that it was a maple leaf the first time around, and that in this episode it looked closer to a beech leaf
WAIT NEIL CROSS WROTE THIS EP
I really like that Clara got a backstory for both her and her parents, and that it did actually play an important part in
Yeah, the logic of the episode didn't really make much sense to me, but I like the characterization of Clara and delving more into who she is as a person. Ha, hear the people sing?
Yeah, I feel like returning the ring was a way to sort of cut it off and end it on a happier note without actually having to spend too much time on dealing with it, but I do appreciate that it was acknowledged and that Clara made a point of being with the Doctor as her own self, not a reminder of someone else (even though it probably won't actually end that way) so it kind of made up for it.
That's true, but I feel like it would've been able to cover most of the languages that they would've encountered, unless barking would fall under the realm of animals, which it seems isn't in the department of things covered?
Yeah, I feel like the TARDIS' dislike of Jack is much more violent and noticeable opposed to Jack. Though, I'm not sure if the TARDIS could've been classified as disliking older!Amy, since that was Eleven who had slammed the door in her face. The paradox thing seems likely, but it doesn't explain her two deaths which seemed to be very much real. It could be that it isn't a paradox inasmuch as it is something to do with Clara's nature and her apparent recurrence?
Heh, I feel like there was a lot on religion this ep compared to most, but that was probably due to the plot. Though it didn't strike me as too anti religion, but more against the entity that the people worshiped as a god? But I really liked how he emoted during the speech, and it was very much a grandiose sum of the entirety of his existence? Which just made for a really nice contrast when compared to Clara's speech, which was just much more personal.
Yeah, I considered that they could've done that, but then the actual ramifications of him not remembering anything might make life a little complicated.
Ohh. That makes it a little bit better, but having a planet disappear would spell a bit of disaster for the people living on the rings.
