Degrees of severity

I haven't really posted much on here in the last month or so, so here's an update:

Today was an okay day. After school, Jim, Tim, Joe, and I filled Mendelson's car full of newspaper. Fun to do, and fun to see his reaction. Check Jim's blog for pictures.

April has been an exceptionally eventful month. A rundown of some events:
- Film festival: Went reasonably well--lots of good movies, and 'Dinosaur and McCullough: the Legend Begins' got a fairly good reception, despite kind of iffy sound quality it seemed to have. Nathan was correct in saying a lot of the drier verbal humor was ignored, but the response the bathtub scene got more or less made up for it.
- Prom: Extremely enjoyable--a very quality night (or in my case, one might say...Kawaler-ty! buh haw haw haw! [I'm very sorry, Emily]). The pre-dance dinner thing was a bit hectic (long story), but still alright, and the dance itself provided lots of opportunities to do some bad dancing. More members of Ice Age club were represented than usual, which was cool. I laughed extremely hard watching the hypnotist, and post-post prom was also very pleasant (though 'She-Demons' is a terrible movie).
- One Acts: Everything seemed to come together in time for the performances--we had a success where we very easily could've had a huge mess. This was the first thing I'd really done in the realm of theater (that sounds awfully pompous, but I digress), and I really enjoyed it when I wasn't worrying about my lines. A success!

Gentlemen's Breakfast Club has had a series of good meetings lately, some of our best. I am really, really glad it exists; one of the most bizarrely enjoyable things I've ever been a part of.

Lots of people seem to be getting into Garth Ennis' 'Preacher' lately, which is pretty cool. Violent and hilarious and extremely well-illustrated.

Anyone want to loan me/burn me some stuff by the Decembrists? I want to have albums by this band very soon.

Would it be weird if I got my hair buzzed? Not shaved all the way, but shorter than I usually get it. Just occurred to me a few minutes ago. Something to consider.

Jim and I seem to be set for hosting the Battle of the Bands, which should be a good time. Jim, hopefully, will be as funny as we all know he can be, and I hopefully won't act like an ass.

Daddow apparently got really pissed at the brief about him in the WEB April Fool's section, 'Daddow still recovering from Sex in the City finale'. Here are two exchanges I recently had with the man:
Daddow: (runs up, points finger) You need to look up the meaning of the word sophomoric!
Me: (awkward silence)

Me: I'm sorry if you were seriously offended by what we printed in the WEB.
Daddow: YES, I WAS seriously offended. But I accept your apology.
Me: (awkward silence)

It's a shame, especially considering he wrote me a letter of recommendation a few months ago. I wish we were on good terms.

I really have no idea how to feel about any of this graduation business. I also still think I'm probably clinically depressed. But overall, the quality of my life is very good. So that's alright.
