Well I haven't shaved since the last day of work on Thursday. As such I'm thinking on the possibility of doing something rather manly and grow a playoff beard. Do you primarily want to get a nice deep playoff beard? Choose a good long-run primary team and then a good secondary option that you're willing to fall back to. (given all the splits, no team is a shoo-in right now!)
If you want to truly experience the playoff beard, find a team you have some interest in, and invest yourself completely in them. They go out, you shave. They stay in, you don't touch it. This is the more emotional commitment playoff beard, you're putting yourself into their hands, and showing your full support. =) It's hard to go wrong with any choice right now, we have an incredible set of playoff teams. If you want to hedge your bets, feel free to make your choice after the quarters end, to ensure you get another 7-14 days after the next week. This might be best if you're new to the beard and to any of the current teams.
Note that the 'trimming' of a playoff beard is a bit of a discussion point. Generally speaking, a lot of people consider trimming the 'line' of the beard to be ok, but you cannot be too excessively neat. Trimming the *length* to create a mowed lawn is not ok, although cutting some of the outliers is ok (if you get a few uber fast growers.) It is also acceptable to do a full tidy, again retaining length, after a particularly horrible loss or if you're in the hole (2 down.)
Me, it's easy, Sharks baby!
