WAITING GAME ghpnpcs January 27 2012, 18:00:11 UTC
[The Project members have been lead into a rather bare looking room in their old home, with no information known to them save that they've been called back by someone known as "The Manager." What do?]

[Sion waited patiently, doing as he was told: he arrived a little early, and followed the woman's instructions, despite his curiosity and desire to go around and get reacquainted with what he called home once.]

[Shang trailed in promptly at five-thirty, ever the military boy. Hearing the woman's instructions made his brow raise, but he remained in the room, choosing to pace about it instead after a brief greeting directed at Sion.

Miller, arriving a little later, nodded with a somewhat strained smile at the woman before turning to the others.]

Very mysterious, isn't it? [She's trying to sound humorous.]

A little too much for my taste, I think. *Like Shang, Mulan had been on time, and between her arrival and now, she'd already scoped out the room and chosen a seat. Both Beast and Princess had yet to make it in, although it was likely Beast would forget the date and come late once he remembered that meeting was today*

She nods thoughtfully, mimicking Shang in her own circuit of the room. She stops after a few steps, tilting her head at an angle as her eyes narrowing, looking into the past.

"...I remember this room."

[He understands and gives them both a smile.]

It is. Do any of you know who the manager might be?

No, I don't think I knew who the manager the first time I was here, even. It's weird to think about how that's a question that seems natural now, but we wouldn't even think about then.

[[How long has he been there? Probably no one can really tell. But he feels the urge to speak up at that.]] That's because we trusted them. There's no reason to do any different now.

Yes, this is true.

[Sion is glad to see him, all of them and hope more will come soon.]

Miller smiles tensely in Luka's direction as she nods at Mulan and Sion's words.

Shang, on the other hand, frowns a little at the room in general before replying, "I just feel like they've gone about this rather oddly, that's all."

"They have, but well... What are we going to do? Walk out? We can't, this is our duty. We were trained for this, guys," not to mention, in the back of her mind she had the bad feeling if they didn't do whatever this was, the Project would just pick someone else. Someone who wasn't as trained, or prepared, or who didn't work together as well, and then they'd be hurt or worse. Mulan couldn't let someone else do that if she was perfectly capable of taking their place.

"That is exactly right," comes a voice from the far end of the room. Out steps a severe looking woman, who appeared to have been lurking for who knew how long, "You have been called back here because this is what you have been trained for."

She allows a brief, not very sincere looking smile to touch her lips, "Welcome home, children of the Gingerbread House Project. I am the Manager."

And they were, technically, not children anymore.

Sion stood up and bowed to the woman, wanting to be polite.

"M'lady, we have many questions amongst ourselves. Have you called us here so that they may be answered?"

She nods briefly in reply.

"I will answer what I can. However, surely you must know that all of this is very... sensitive in nature. Some things must be kept secret for the greater good."

They can understand that, right?

Of course they could. He sat down and waited for her to proceed, not wanting to interrupt her again.

"I hope there won't be too many secrets, however," Princess arrived to catch the ending bit and made her comment while sitting at one of the chairs closer to the door, "They don't make friends." She studied the woman before her, trying to figure out if she remembered her. She didn't, and eventually politeness kicked in.
"I apologize for my lateness."
