awesome. what was the set list like? was it mostly older material or that crimson crap? I definetly like goddamnit and their self-titled much better than crimson. Matt SKiba tries to act too dark and satanic now, before it was just natural and kinda who he was.
They played "Sadie", "Time To Waste", and ... *thinking* "The Poison" from Crimson - but in all fairness, "Sadie" is originally a One-Man Army song. And they played a LOT of One-Man Army and Split Seven Series. They played only "My Little Needle" from Goddammit.
Actually, "Crimson" is all about Satanism. It's about those kids in North Carolina who are on death row for a murder they didn't commit, just because they're Satanists. Even the person whose daughter was murdered said they didn't do it, but they're still there.
exactly. matt skiba never used to be a satanist. If you go back and listen to like there self-titled and such he was never like 'ooh, look at me, I'm a scary satanist". No. He just wrote really catchy clever music and he always just had that kinda darker edge to him and now it just seems like he tries to be that way.
Actually, he's always been a Satanist. So is Derek. I don't think they really played it up as much. I think Matt is just really furious at the injustice and I sympathize: I'm a Pagan in a Catholic school - I get blamed for everything.
well, bottom line I guesss is that Matt never used to dress dark and wear make-up and now he does. And in my opine, they're music has taken a turn for the worse.
yeah, I mean it's nothing to really argue and get too wroked up over. Personally, I just liked it much better when the music seemed more raw and guitar driven with not as much effects. Andriano's music used to be alot more passionate as well. I mean listen to "I lied my face off" then "the posion". As for the satanist kids or whatnot I haven't read anything about that or heard any of the band members speak of it, so I really got nothing to say about that.
