Johnny, Gaara does not approve of your incestuous tendencies :l fifth_kazekage July 31 2008, 13:59:38 UTC
Though it was for the sake of a family member, Gaara felt direly uncomfortable with the notion of breaking into a jail. Or rather, sneaking inside and taking out one of the prisoners against the set rules. He was interferring with the justice system of another world. If any of his villagers ever found out what he had done, they would surely lose faith in him and question his leadership. As Kazekage, he was held to higher standards than many other shinobi, and he was supposed to set an example for his people. He had to continuously convince himself that this act wouldn't be so bad because it was not terribly obstructive, and he truly felt that Iris didn't belong in a jail cell for her supposed crimes. Still, Gaara would have much preferred to use political influence to help reduce her sentence rather than choose this route ( ... )

PFFFT, THERE'S NO INCEST HERE, KEEP MOVING ghostsnaps July 31 2008, 21:01:56 UTC
"Yeah," Johnny agreed with a nod. Time to get in and get Iris out. He was glad Gaara was helping him out--he knew without his brother's abilities, freeing Iris would have been a lot harder. Johnny wasn't even sure he could have done it alone, though he was certain he would have tried. After his experience in Alcatraz, he wouldn't have wanted to leave a person imprisoned when he knew they were innocent--especially his adopted sister. "Time to move out!"

Gaara's teleportation carried the two of them directly into Iris's cell, and Johnny instantly turned around to see his sister.

Iris gasped as she saw her brothers. How had they - No, she knew that, Gaara must have teleported them in. But why...

No. They wouldn't.

Clamping down on the sudden wave of foreboding, she smiled at them. "It's good to see you," she said quietly.

Iris, I think you need to sleep in the room farthest away from Johnny's. 8l fifth_kazekage August 2 2008, 05:50:51 UTC
"Iris." Gaara greeted in return with a slight nod. Their sister was smiling at them, but her expression seemed a bit troubled, so he asked, "What is it?"

While awaiting her answer, his eyes carefully scanned the area to ensure that no one would interrupt them. They were fortunate that Iris was in a private cell, because if she had any cellmates, then the arrival of the two brothers would have surely caused an uproar.

"Well..." The lateness of the hour, the teleporting in, how Gaara was scanning their immediate surroundings as if on a mission... It was what she'd thought. "...This isn't just a visit, is it?"

Johnny grinned at how quickly she'd caught on, and happily (but quietly--he was aware they couldn't be too loud) told her, "We're going to get you out of here."

To Johnny, things seemed to be going well so far; what he'd been most worried about was Iris maybe screaming at their sudden appearance. She'd definitely been startled, it looked like, but she hadn't raised an alarm.

But... I told them that I deserved to be here. Still, if she hadn't been able to convince them of that on the community, then she certainly wouldn't be able to convince them of it here - not without taking so much time that it would increase their chances of getting caught.

"...All right," she finally said. "How are we going to do it?"

She seemed concerned for them, or their safety, perhaps, if they were to be caught. Gaara looked at his sister with the utmost serious expression and decided they had time to discuss her worries outside of the prison. Their highest priority at present was to leave.

Instead of answering Iris verbally, the red-haired ninja raised one arm toward the area where she was sitting, and sand began to gather together as the tiny grains formed a clone that looked exactly like her.

Johnny's eyebrows rose as the clone shaped itself into an exact duplicate of Iris--he hadn't suggested the idea to Gaara, thinking there was no need for a decoy if they could instantly escape. But maybe it was a good idea after all; if the sand clone lasted long enough, her absence might not be noticed at all. "Nice," he murmured quietly, and then, "That's it, right? Can't think of anything else we need to do."

Gaara started to shake his head, but then turned to Iris and asked, "Your belongings were confiscated during your entry, correct? Are there any vital items that you cannot bear to part with?"

He wasn't personally very attached to material goods, but if there happened to be any rare or cherished items that had been taken away from Iris... well, then that would complicate matters quite a bit. Nevertheless, she was his sister, and he didn't want to leave anything behind that she truly desired to take along with her.

She shook her head. "No, nothing. I left all my valuables at the temple."

Johnny scratched his chin, wondering. "So we should probably make a stop there...are you going to stay at the temple or do you want to stay in my world for a while?"

Serving his role as the stern and serious - albeit younger - brother, Gaara folded his arms over his chest and commanded coolly, "Decide quickly. What is our next destination?"

He personally didn't think it would be wise for Iris to stay in her usual residence. When her disappearance was discovered, then surely the authorities would look for her there.

Much as she would have liked to go back to the temple, it simply wasn't possible. If Sister Bikini was caught trying to hide her...

"Would it be possible to get my things without Sister Bikini knowing that anyone was there? It - It would be best if she didn't see me."

...Sister Bikini? o_O Is that her real name? fifth_kazekage August 7 2008, 21:29:02 UTC
This conversation would really be much better taking place outside of the jail cell, he mused with a hint of wariness.

"We can retrieve your belongings without witness." Gaara stated with certainty in his voice. "However, there is a strong possibility that the sudden disappearance of those items will be noticed."

Yup! She chose it herself. bright_mirror August 7 2008, 21:40:19 UTC
"Then we'd better leave them there. I don't want to risk incriminating her." It was probably just as well that she wasn't overly attached to her possessions.
