I have been reading with much interest and slight amusement all of the posts where folks are now saying that we need to work together.
I said the same thing twice before after the last two elections, and was roundly cursed at for it by the self-same people who now want me to be nice. I was nice before, and was told that this was not their president and that they'd never stop hating Bush. He did a lot of things that I disagreed with, but he is still the duly-elected President and that means something.
It's just funny that all the people who cursed at me for the last 8 years are asking something of me that they have been unwilling to do themselves before now.
Let me be clear...I have no hatred, animosity, dislike of the President-elect personally. I have concerns about his positions on policy issues that no one ever answered to my liking during the campaign, or where all the money came from, or to whom he owes favors.
He has said "all the right things" so far, and I will wait to see what happens next.
It's a new day, and I remain hopeful in the future of our country. Not because of election results, but because we still have them.
