Mad Maxine and the gratuitous killshot
Since the Memsahib and the girl had gone to cheerleading, and sine Jake was at a friend’s house…I decided it was time to watch Doomsday with Rhona Mitra. They had two versions on the DVD, the theatrical release and the unrated version. I decided to watch the unrated version. Holy cow. The film was not bad; it had its moments of being contrived and predictable just like any post-apocalypse movie will have. What got to me was the painful, realistic and gory lengths the filmmakers went to so that I was grossed out from all the ways they killed folks off. From slit throats to arrows in the neck to severed limbs, I can say they made arterial spurt a work of art. Rhona Mitra is a stone babe, and she may have come close to eclipsing Kate Beckinsale as my favorite kickass hottie. LT sez…3 out of 5 stars.
