Expert from my application. Ghost's background:

Ghost moved to Missing Mile, NC from the mountains of North Carolina when he was ten years old. His grandmother, Miz Deliverance, a white-witch known up and down the east coast, raised him from a small child. Upon his arrival to Missing Mile (assumed to be near real-life Durham, NC) he met Steve Finn. They became fast friends. Steve’s openness and wild-streak intrigued the simple, kind, and sincere Ghost. He spent his childhood with Steve playing in the small town, poking around in Miz Deliverance’s exotic collection of herbal medicines, climbing trees, and telling wild stories fueled by his strange and terrible dream-visions. They went to highschool, and off to the State University for two years, until they both became disillusioned and returned home. When Ghost was 16, Miz Deliverance died, leaving him her house on Burnt Church Road. He and Steve began to pursue a life in music, creating a band called Lost Souls?.
Other members came and went, but Steve and Ghost were the true members of Lost Souls?, Ghost providing vocals, Steve wailing on the guitar. They played multiple times a week at a local dive called The Sacred Yew, a haven for the lost-children of the area.

Ghost spent all his time being care-taker to Steve, an occupation he took happily. Losing himself in the music, he could forget his dark visions, his unnatural knowledge of the future.
That was until their music caught the ear of a lost-child of the night, Nothing. Nothing, bringing his blood-thirsty new family with him, traveled to Missing Mile to see the band he loved. With him, he brought Zillah, a raving mad, ruthless vampire, who turned Ghost and Steve’s lives upside down. Steve’s innocent and naïve ex-girlfriend, Ann, was caught in the crossfire, and became impregnated with Zillah’s poisonous seed, a baby which would kill her during birth.

Following along with Steve to New Orleans, Ghost set off to save Ann and Nothing from the vampires. Ghost’s selflessness, loyalty and love for his friends, his bravery, kept Steve alive on their trip to the strange city. However, unable to save Ann, Steve went on a rampage of revenge, set on killing Zillah and his family. In order to save his friend, Ghost was forced to kill Zillah himself, and even in killing such an awful, evil creature he felt pity and remorse.

(Future) Ann dead and Nothing lost to him, Ghost returned to Missing Mile, Steve in tow, and began rebuilding his life. They continue playing at the Sacred Yew, Ghost singing his haunting songs to the lost-children of the south. However, nothing would ever be the same. (Future)
However, Ghost appears on Tabula Rasa the moment his knife slides into Zillah’s
skull, he and Steve’s last night in New Orleans.
