So after laughing pretty hard at Andrews post I figured I should update too. I finished my last exam on Saturday afternoon after working mon-fri at 5am. I stressed hardcore about all 4, but this one the least, even though I studied approximately 20% of the material, and never even took notes for half of the class. So I ended up meeting someone to study on Friday, but when we came across the fact that I didn't really have anything to read, we just ended up talking about stuff, and she gave me a hilarious comic idea that I wanted to draw right away, but now I kinda forgot it. It had something to do with hitting a baby. Then she told me about how shes so desperate for food she stuffs her bread ends with cheese.
I wrote the exam the next day, and was almost baffled by how watered down it was... like there was hardly anything I needed to study, it was half common sense; However, this only means I got 50%. Shitty. I got marks back for my other 2 courses, and got almost 90% in both, so that made me happy. After class I walked home and some guy followed me and told me about how 1/2 lb burgers are delicious. Then I got really hungry. Instead, I went to Lucas' though with the worst cider apparently, so I went back to another liquor store and bought a white grape kind which was so delicious. I took a bunch of shots, looked outside and it started to snow, so I ran outside in just my sweater and started throwing snowballs at people and cars. Mike came out and hit a biker and he fell off, then chased after Mike, and started throwing snowballs at all of us, and his friend joined in. It was awesome. We slid around on the ice for a bit, then I was numb at the extremities and ran back in for a session of delayed, incorrectly ordered Chinese food. After that I started walking home, and saw a bunch of kids at about 1am tobogganing down that hill by Lucas' and UVIC which is when I remembered that 2 years ago I was walking down the street in the summer wearing shorts and a t-shirt when I came across a free sled-disc on the street. I was so happy, I stored it away for the perfect day. This was the perfect day, so I phoned up Sara just as she was crawling into bed, and told her to get her rubber boots on because we were gonna go tobogganing. She came out and when we got to my house there was a van stuck sideways in a ditch and a tow-truck trying to go up the hill to pull it out. The tow-truck started slipping down the hill sideways too and the guy got out and was like "That's not good..." He put chains on the tires, and still couldn't make it up. He left without pulling the van, and we slid down the hill a couple times. Sara kept sledding directly into a bush. After we met up with Justin and threw more snowballs, I went home. Best Saturday Ever.
Today I was in ER all morning. 9/10 people came to the hospital right away when they walked out their door either cause they didn't notice it was snowing and fell down their front steps, or heard it was snowing on the radio, and slipped off their toilet (which possibly could have been covered in ice as well). One 12 year old kid came in from hurting his wrist tobogganing down Ryan hill. I actually laughed out loud. Then for my first time, I talked to a man with a left hemisphere temporal stroke. Basically that means that their language center is fucked. I only read about cases like this for my final, which I had done a couple days ago. The guy was at the gym with his trainer when all of a sudden he asked his trainer where he was.
He then proceeded to be confused, and make no sense. He was dressed in a suit, and wasn't even old, it just looked like a very normal, successful, middle aged man who didn't know where he lived, why he was there or how to respond to my questions. He hadn't been seen by a doc, but me and the nurse came to the conclusion that he had a stroke while pumping the guns. His trainer looked really upset and worried. Later the nurse was explaining to someone who hit their funny bone really hard that they had fractured their ulna. I told her it was the humerus, and half of the room laughed.
This week is loaded with good plans: going shopping/skating with Kirsti tomorrow, Seeing Andrea for the first time since Montreal on Wednesday (i think), Lucas' Birthday is on Thursday I think so we gotta party hard for that... AT MSTRKRFT!! (Fri) then I think me and Mike might possibly be going to Vancouver on Sat if we don't continue to party on Saturday? Then I plan to interview an expert on memory, and random students for a bigger story i'm writing for the next issue of Nexus. Other then that I hope to get a lot of art done this winter. Hopefully I can finish a bunch of drawings i'd left blank earlier this semester like this one.
