[Chloe awoke to blood caked to her form--and panicked. She screamed, then proceeded to take a freezing shower as she scrubbed her body raw until all traces of blood came off. Shaking, preturbed, scared, Chloe thumbs through her journal before flipping it open. Even now, she uses video.]

Alex was not a happy camper. :(
He activates his own video feed and manages to keep his tone even and calming, despite how upset he is right now.]
Honey, it's okay .. I'm Alex and your name is Chloe .. I'll do anything I can to help you through this, but you need to calm down, okay?

A-a-are you m-my... [She can't think of the word she wants to use just then, but he seemed friendly and concerned and he called her honey. Someone important to her used to call her that, right?]
Ch-Chloe. Y-you're Alex.
[She trying to calm down, honest, but waking to blood all over you isn't very condusive to that.]

Am I your .. oh .. OH! THAT! Ahh .. [And now it's Alex's turn to stammer a bit.] No .. I'm nothing more than a friend .. we're close and you're great, but .. [Alex .. just shut up .. He exhales and regathers himself, trying this again.] We're friends.
[But he's smiling still and he doesn't look mad at all about the suggestion .. just flustered. Derek would kill him. His voice is calmer as he continues.]
Something happened to you and you lost your memory .. things will clear up completely in a few days. This place is Holloway's Keep and you've been here for a little while now ..

Shit. [He facepalms and exhales, looking at Chloe with no small amount of apology.] I totally could have handled that better .. Yeah .. I did, but this place is different and people don't stay dead. They come back after a few days, but they don't remember stuff. It takes a few days to clear up, but it'll be okay ..

Well, it's real, but it's .. well, it's a different place. We've all been brought here because something happened to our worlds. You and several dozen others so far ..
[Then he chuckles softly and nods.]
Yeah, I tend to think that you're pretty cool. Defintiely made plenty of friends since you showed up ..
[Then he tilts his head slightly, thinking how best to answer this next question.]
You're gutsy .. you're not afraid to go out and look for answers, or to ask questions. You and Derek make a pretty fantastic team, and I'm pretty sure you made a great one even before you came here ..

[She smiles a bit at that. It was good to know, at least. And she thinks she likes this Alex guy. He seems like a good friend.]

[She blushes darkly as all that praise. Gutsy? Unafraid? Was that really her? Then Derek's name catches her attention, and everything else is put on pause.]
W-wait. D-derek and I...a-are we f-from the same place?
[They were a good team, huh? Well. That was reassuring, and Chloe can't help the wide and happy smile spreading across her face right now.]

Then he blinks, and his lips curl into a wide smile that flashes his pronounced canines. He actually laughs softly, eyes hiding behind a curtain of hair before he brushes the locks aside and looks at her again.]

[Then his expression softens and he nods once in response.]
Yeah, you are .. an alternate version of my own world, actually .. that whole mess is kinda confusing though, when it comes right down to it. He's your boyfriend.

[It seems a little odd to her that one man is trying to fix whatever happened, but she takes Alex's word for it at the moment. Then she's smiling at his thanks.]

[Now Chloe is blushing vibrantly again, feeling suddenly light-headed. How peculiar this whole thing was. How peculiar that everyone knew more about her life than she did.]
H-he d-did say my sc-scent was all over his--
[Chloe cuts off with a gasp, eyes going impossibly wide. Maybe she wasn't supposed to admit that. Maybe Derek was different. She couldn't smell anything, after all.]
