well, things have quieted down a bit since last time. there's still some confusion with some classes i'll be taking this semester. since i didnt pass firearms history and developement and conversions theory, i will be taking those again this semester and passing. but up in the admin building since the dont get the idea that i will be testing out of history within the next two weeks so there will no longer be a schedualing conflict. history and stockmaking 2 go on at the same time and they just cant seem to grasp the idea of testing out early so there will no longer be a conflict. we'll take care of that all this week and it'll be just fine. also i signed up for knifemaking 2 this semester (again) since keith is teaching it this year. this year instead of doing a free-for-all with making whatever knives we want, there is some sort of curriculem. first we have to make a folding knife from a kit then later on we can make a folder from scratch. but i kinda want to do that in reverse order, making one from scratch first. but then thats just kinda my way of doing things. so anyway, im lookin around the internet for a kit that i like so i can order it for the class.
elsewhere, dave's being dave and only wants me to use a semi-inlet stock for the class that was made as a semi-inlet. in other words, i have to make a pattern and have a pro-stockmaker use it to fabricate me a stock. so its more money and time i have to invest in this thing. my original plan was to fabricate the stock from scratch to get to a semi-inlet form and then finish it in class. but dave wants me to get more experience with a semi-inlet from somewhere else so i know how to work with something thats not perfect. but in the line of guns that i want to do (wheellocks and the like) there arent a whole lot of semi-inlet patterns out there in the world, and i kinda doubt that anyone else would have patterns for wheellock, flintlock and other lock stocks. maybe i will have the patterns after a while after i craft them myself and also get a stock duplicator, but for a while it will all be scratch done.
but enough of that, time for some time wasters that i did earlier.
