Case Nine

[All seemed to be going decently enough up until monsters started appearing on the Sphere Network and...]

Someone cut the networking on my cyberbrain and it won't come out of autistic mode.

[She fidgets unconsciously with her watch (which is lurking below the purple costume emblazoned with the giant black '9' on her left side), looking really ( Read more... )

[Ammy is trotting up the hall on a quest for food run to the shops for ink, and her ears perk as she passes by Motoko.]

It is probably the same person that has sealed off my powers.

Your powers are sealed?

Mm. [She nods.] Can't transform, can't use my Celestial Brush techniques, and I cannot summon my Divine Instruments. It is frustrating.

Everything about this is frustrating.

[shuts off her Sphere for a bit since Ammy's right there and motions for her to do the same]

[just because she has a lot of information to unload, she's talking slower than normal for her]

Concerning what the Captain said at the end of his last broadcast before all of this cropped up, we have to be careful what we say over an open line. Ganymede's probably able to see and hear a lot of the things we plan unless they're put under a proper lock. Besides that, I have a theory that if all these monsters are the other passengers, and he knows that we might be planning something in the next few days while he does the inspection, he was the one who tampered with the systems. I'd bet anything that this is to pit us against each other while he starts inspections so we'll be too distracted with fighting off the monsters we see to carry out any plans we might have.

[pauses]

I'm sorry if that was too much to take in all at once, but I had to get that off my head to someone.

Mm. [She nods, her ears perked forward attentively.

...Even as her eyes start to droop and her head bobs. She's listening, she swears. When the Major finishes, her head jerks up a little.]

I think you're right. That seems to be the best way to throw off any attackers, is get them fighting each other. Not a method I would usually use, but an effective one.

No, it is fine.

Thanks. Now I just need to get this information spread around to the others without having it broadcast over the Sphere network. [leans back against the wall, chewing on her thumb]

Make a notice on paper? It would take a while to write them all, but I can deliver them to each room without needing the spheres. Even without my powers I am still a fast runner, and I'm familiar enough with the layout of this ship.

That sounds to be the best idea. If you can deliver some, I'll write up more while you do that and when you run out I'll have more ready. And if you can find someone who can deliver to the other floors, that would eliminate some of the other trouble.

Mm! [She nods.] That sounds easy enough.

Alright. Give me a few minutes.

[She sets down her helmet and pulls out the pad of paper and pen to start writing out some notices with her theory in Japanese, then as an afterthought she writes an English translation underneath, just in case. All of them also bear a strange looking symbol at the top and a note to contact Motoko Kusanagi if they have any questions at the bottom. After five or so minutes, she has quite a few ready for distribution and folds up all but one and hands them to Amaterasu, the unfolded one she'd use to continue writing.]

When you hand those out, make sure they read them with their Sphere's off. ...And thank you for your help.

Mm! [Nods and takes the stack, her tail wagging.] I'll let them know.
