While I was out with some friends the other night I recieved Fido and 30 Days of Night as early birthday gifts.
Generally people tend to not like 30 Days but having read the comic, I think it's worked out to be pretty great. It's intense, violent and super bloody. The way vampires always could have been but never really seen by the general public until now. No one knows what to do with it because it's too different for most people. For that I am grateful. I have very little to complain about, if anything at all when it comes to this film.
Fido is amazing too. I haven't watched it since I got it but I remember it being sheer brilliance. Anytime you replace Lassie with a Zombie in a 1950's suburban setting you are going to walk away with a masterpiece. I doubt any film to come out from now until forever will come close to being like Fido. It truley stands in a class of it's own in the genre. Not to mention the cast is amazing too.
Bravo friends.
