Ew but Ok.
For the last 2 days I have been getting over some sort of stomach virus. Tuesday night I couldn't eat dinner at all. Yesterday was a lot better but I've still been missing work. I did eat some pizza, soup and granola though. So that was a plus. In my recent sickness I seem to have rediscovered my love for Sunny Delight. What a glorious beverage. It should be called Sunny Delicious.
Today I've been feeling better but I took the day off just to make sure. I'm still a little congested and for the most part, my body feels less like a brick that is trying to become water. I'm not entirely sure what the hell was wrong with me but I've been confused just as much as I've been sick. From the flu to food poisoning to virus, I've used them all. I don't know what the hell hit me but I'm glad it's going away.
On a side note, I finally watched the Futurama movie and some Firefly episodes yesterday
In the beginning of the Futurama movie, it felt like it took Groening and the crew a while to get back in the swing of things. Once they got the ball rolling though, I thought it was pretty good. It felt just like Futurama again. I lost all track of time and before I knew it, the show was over. Now I have to wait for more again. Damn it.
Firefly was pretty good too. I enjoy watching a TV show about the times of Han Solo without aliens from other worlds. I still have half the season to go so I'm looking forward to that. Firefly is something that surely needs to be watched more than once. There's more drama than action but it's so good. Mal is such a great guy / jerk of a character and the dialog of the show just demands that you love it. The echoes of Star Wars in the series, be it intentional or unintentional work well too. Firefly has grabbed something familiar and succeeded at becoming it's own thing. Not being a fan of Buffy or Angel, I was a little concerned that I wouldn't like Firefly. Joss' run on X-Men was really great though. So I guess Joss Whedon isn't all that bad. Maybe someday I will completely understand why some people see him as God. For now he's just an alright guy.
