I absolutely love how Sam realizes he is not a monster/demon and that it isn't Dean telling him that, cause that wouldn't have worked. I was thinking about writing a tag to that episode and starting with Dean telling Sam that he doesn't believe Bradley but it just didn't work. Sam has to find this out for himself. That and, well we all know how Dean is too caught up in his own pain still (dare I say disinterested? Cause I do! There, said it!) so there really isn't anybody left to do that.

Thanks a lot, told you yesterday that this helped me with putting that crappy episode behind me and I still mean it. So thank you SO much for writing it! (Btw, taking the blame for something this brilliant? Too easy! ;) )

I'm glad you don't mind fessing up to what you caused, young lady. And yeah... originally the idea was that Dean was going to *tell* him...but it felt better when Sammy told *himself*.

Having read Rites of Passage and LOVED IT, I decided I'm going to peruse your entire fanfic list. This little gem is like everything I've ever thought about the ending of The Devil You Know. I swear you live in my brain!

An incredible piece of writing. I could feel Sam's pain. I glad you had him coming to realise his humanity on his own because no matter what Dean may have said, it would have just been platitudes. Dean may have suffered great loss and what he feels as betrayal but he has never suffered through the love of his life being murdered and he has never suffered the bone deep betrayal that Sam has. Perfect!
