To jump or not to jump

OK here's the thing:

I've been dying to  live in a city. Where I live is pretty but I miss being around PEOPLE and culture and creative energy.

Last night, as Kieran and I sat in a pub in Philly we started talking about FUCK ALL and let's just move down here. It would be harder for me, because I'm in a stable job that would mean a very reasonable commute. So here's the options:

1. The practical: Stay out here for a year- Kieran commutes into philly, finishes school and we see where his job search takes us location wise. There aren't many game development companies in Philly. This allows me save for when the move comes (Kieran's goal is to work for Epic in NC or in Seattle, or Portland) and keep me $$$ stable for a while. We can move to an area (or try) to where Kieran's school commute isn't bad. If we wait a year we'll also be down one car b/c Kieran's lease will be up. (much easier for city living) Then, when we move we can put money down on somewhere and I will have paid off my student loans some more.

2. Fuck all. Possibilities aren't known without given force. We're in the city (Philly). I can get PA cert (I already started the process) and hope for a job to open up in a good school district in either nearby jersey or PA district. This is a pipe dream, schools are being HIT right now- but ya never know. Once the school year starts, I can substitute and fill in with a second job. I've been wanting to explore other education based avenues, so maybe this is the push I need. Kieran is close to school and can take the train back to this area to work for his employer. Once he graduates we see where the chips fall. My biggest fear here is, I work my ass off to get into a school and then we pick up and move again to another location.

so start your voting. the jump is always scarier, but my mother raised me to fear financial instability. My "bran muffin" tendencies tend to out way the colored sprinkles in me.Thanks for listening, check is in the mail.

BTW Johnny and Brenda's is my new favorite venue. Sure it's trendster but it's a great place to grab a greasy bite and see a show.
