Happy New Year everyone. Movies consumed this weekend:
Superman Returns.
not sure where all the flack came from when this came out. I thought it was a fun movie.
Descent
strong through out and then just fell to shreds in the end.
Flight Plan
much better than I thought it was going to be. comically, this mixed with snakes on a plane coulda been a hit.
Recipes Made:
Standard French Toast.
Killer Grilled Cheese (PERFECT FOR BRUNCH)
1 oz of room temp cream cheese
4 oz of shredded gouda
2 tsp cinamon
1 green apple sliced thin
1 egg beaten into shallow bowl. (a pie pan works best)
some butter
4 slices of cinamon toast
confection sugar (optional-to sprinkle on top and make u feel special)
OK- essentially it works like stuffed french toast.
Combine the gouda with the cinamon and cream cheese really well. Spread this on each side of the bread.
But the apple slices on top of the cheese spread- close sandwhich
Melt butter in to warmed pan
Dunk sandwhich into beaten egg- place into heated pan and cook on each side.
It also works well if you kinda squash down the sandwhich while it's in the pan.
Also, to assure melted cheese, right when the sandwhich looks done on either side turn the stove to a low temp and then cover the pan. This traps heat inside and will really melt the cheese spread for ya.
Serve with fruit. YUM!
We had a really quiet new years. We did nothing. We toasted with sparkling cider, smooched and watched TV. It was perrrrfect.
