IRC: If I'm at home, I'm in the main chan as well as any number of cast chans o/ Pinging me in any of them will usually get you a response. Typically, if I'm there, I'm either Kurogane or Watanuki; sleep teims nick is [muzzzshi]. THAT SAID I cannot access IRC from work, nor can my work computers handle gchat. So if you want to get ahold of me during the weekdays (week-evenings for you EST people), you'll have to email me at ishidaaaugh at gmail.
Alternatives: Google talk will snag me too, if I'm at home! I also tend to be on AIM as EpicFailNinja.
Style: Conversations with me will probably be kind of disjointed. I've gotten away from the AIM mentality of OMG MUST TALK 24/7 AT YOU IF WE HAVE A WINDOW OPEN and am much, much more comfortable with the "leave a message when I feel like saying something" style of talking. But other than that, I'll happily chatter about anything. Fandom squeeing, character motivations, post ideas, app-topping, whatever.
Threading
Playing frequency: Work is severely limiting me nowadays, soooob. Even so, I am still pretty addicted to my pretendy funtime game, and will usually initiate threads once a day with at least once character.
Replying speed: Depends! If I'm at the computer and completely focused on RPing, then I'll reply within a minute or two, if not immediately. If I'm half-focused on other things or have a lot of different characters out, I'll be slower. Also, if I'm at work, looong breaks between comments are, unfortunately, kind of common. But if it's at all possible, I'll be RPing as fast as my little fingers can type.
Thread pickup: YES PLEASE. This is the ONLY way I can finish my threads sometimes now that I'm on moon time. As many of my RP partners can attest, I am capable of continuing a thread for weeeeks. Because I just can't shut up. ... and also because my schedule sucks. That said, I am much more likely to pick up threads with my primaries (Watanuki and Ginko) than with my backburners (Ishida, Kurogane, Shinjiro). I can be terribly, terribly flaky with the latter category.
Comfort levels: LOVE ANGST. love love love god. I love being the one directly affected just as much as I love having my characters deal with fallout from other characters. If I am in a rare mood and don't feel like angst that night, I will tell you! Otherwise, angst is an always-okay. Similarly, violence and dark threads are fine (especially if you give me a heads-up when things are going in that direction), although I am generally TERRIBLE in a direct fight. (The true reason why Ishida doesn't actually get into many fights anymore.) Romance ... I am a little weird about. I used to do AUs just fine, but nowadays I am kind of -- burnt out on the physical side of playing out a relationship. I wrote a lot more here, but basically, it boils down to this: I love playing the effects of a physical relationship, and will happily do small fade-to-blacks if you want to assume we did something ~creative~. But unless this is like. a FIRST KISS or something equally special and rare, I am generally disinterested in RPing out physical romance that involves anything more than [kisses you a lot dammit].

Frequency: Twice a month or so! Posting is generally limited to weekends due to my timezone, 'cause I'm still used to shooting for the "prime hours", but I'm starting to get used to the fact that yes, there ARE people over here on moontime. And yes, they want something to do with their evenings too.
Spontaneity: Fairly high! If I come up with an idea for a post, I'm usually chomping at the bit to throw it up. If I don't, the idea languishes and will probably never be used. :( THAT SAID I am capable of putting off posts due to scheduling issues, as long as you prod me occasionally to remind me that we're doing something. And setting a specific date will DEFINITELY make sure I remember.
Postrape: o/ I am, of course, going to be slow if it happens, but generally speaking, 500+ comment posts are the norm for me. Smaller posts end up feeling delightfully quiet.
Time before a post is abandoned: Posts made by my primaries (Watanuki, Ginko) will continue threads for daaaaays after the initial post, and continue to pick up new threads for at least a day or two afterwards. Once day two hits, though, I generally consider the post to be dead. Other characters will pick up individual threads as long as necessary, but the general post is dead by the next day (unless I posted late or at a weird hour or something.)

New canon: Depends! I will happily !!! myself over spoilers for manga, but if you breathe a word about the movie I want to see or the video game I want to play, I will kill you in the face. If it's from an old canon that I don't play from anymore (like the Star Wars books, luuulz), I will also happily wtf with you over spoilers. Just. Don't spoil me for Persona or Phoenix Wright, that's all I ask. :(
AUs: I've done sexy-time AUs in the past, but ... I'm done with them, and I refuse to write any more of them. So please don't even ask. Post-camp AUs are fun, though! So are any other sorts of AUs that don't involve sex.
